Volunteer - Associate Members

In addition to volunteering as an operational member, VICSES Bellarine Unit offers an associate membership that provides many opportunities in assisting the unit in a support role.

A diverse range of skills are required in the day-to-day running of the unit and may include:

• Administration - which can involve collecting the mail, taking down meeting minutes or organising the annual Christmas function
• Finance - everything from balancing the books to writing up grant applications
• Equipment and grounds maintenance – there is always a job around the unit that needs doing from sharpening the chainsaw, testing electrical equipment or mowing the lawn to name just a few. The unit vehicles do not just wash themselves!
• Public relations – representing the unit at one of the many community events that occur across the Bellarine Peninsula. If you have ever wanted to be Paddy the Platypus then here is your chance!
• Stores – making sure the unit has stocks of all equipment that it may need and members are issued with the correct uniforms and personnel protective equipment.

• Media liaison – getting our message out to the community – for example raising awareness of the VICSES FloodSafe and StormSafe campaigns
• Fund raising – if you can cook up a storm at a sausage sizzle or lend a hand at a tin rattle then VICSES Bellarine Unit may be the place for you
